A 30-year veteran in the hospitality industry and former Vice President of Interior Design with Hilton Hotels Corporation, Becka Chester provides a unique service to the hotel and resort owner. As design manager, Becka makes certain the final product fully expresses the owner’s unique vision. By governing the design process and acting as liaison between Ownership, Management and the Design Team on a Project-by-Project basis, from inception through to final punch and follow-up, she offers the complete services of a Design Executive. These services are typically only available to the larger hotel firms.
During her tenure as Vice President with Hilton, Becka developed an exclusive insight into hotel owner and management requirements by overseeing the design for Hilton’s owned assets, as well as numerous new-built managed properties. Her prior 25 years working as an interior designer for many of the leading international hotel firms gives her an in-depth understanding of the high standards required for enduring design. For four years, Becka was based in Hong Kong, where she worked on projects in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Taiwan and Vietnam, as well as several commercial projects in Paris, France. At sfa design, Becka continued to direct national and international design projects before moving to Hilton, where she provided her design guidance for Hilton’s owned, operated and franchised properties.
Becka’s most recent endeavors include an engagement supporting Delta Hotels’ Architecture and Design team on several projects, including the drafting of their Design & Construction Standards, prior to Delta’s acquisition by Marriott. Her contributions to the Hospitality Industry continue with Product Design, CEU-accredited panel presentations, incisive articles and active membership with the prestigious International Society of Hospitality Consultants.
